1. Start your writing with an -ing, -ed, -ly starter – this makes it much more active and draws your reader in. You can then include a comma to section off the clause and get bonus points for super punctuation! E.g. Struggling with my homework, I wished desperately for something or someone to interrupt me. Without warning, the earth began to shake violently under my feet.

2.Writing tips – punchy first paragraph

◦ -ing, -ed, -ly starter

◦ Use multi senses not just sight

◦ Problem / mystery ‘but’ sentence or mystery word (something / someone)
